England score seven for openers
 Women's Football News 28 Sep 2007
England under-19 began their UEFA Under-19 Championships qualification campaign in fine style by putting seven goals past the Faroe Islands.
Captain Ellen White and Remi Allen led the way with two goals each while Claire Rafferty also found the back of the net in the rout.
There was enough time for Portsmouth's Brooke Chaplen and Georgia Giddings to score their first ever goals as England players.
Tracey Kevins, in charge due to Head Coach Mo Marley being in China at the Women's World Cup, was pleased with the performance.
"I am happy with the way we played but there is more to come," she told www.TheFA.com. "They were a difficult side to break down. They put lots of bodies behind the ball but we still created chances.
"It would be difficult to say which goal I preferred. They were all well worked and included things were worked on in training."
England face hosts Lithuania on Saturday before facing the might on Spain on Tuesday. "We have told the players that we will face a different type of opposition and a better opposition as the tournament progresses," added Tracey.
England under-19: Rebecca Spencer, Chelsea Weston, Georgina Giddings, Sophie Walton, Jayne Eadie, Sophie Bradley, Jess Clarke, Lizzie Edwards (sub Brooke Chaplen 55 mins), Ellen White (sub Toni Duggan 80 mins), Remi Allen, Claire Rafferty (sub Jade Moore 72 mins). Subs not used: Faye McCoy, Helen Alderson, Michelle Hinnigan, Gemma Bonner.
