Team Northumbria v Gateshead Cleveland Hall - 16 Sep 2007 - Women's Football NewsF.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
Team Northumbria emerged as narrow 1-0 winners after extra time against Durham City in the Preliminary Round and they now play at home to Gateshead Cleveland Hall.
The ladies and girls section of Cleveland Hall Football Club was formed in Summer 2002, but as a boys football club it has been in existence since 1955. Cleveland Hall are based at the Lyndhurst Centre in Gateshead and the women's team play the majority of their matches at Black Lane. The Club has FA Community Club status and runs several girls teams.
Gateshead Cleveland Hall currently plays in Division One North of the North East Regional League and has experienced a tough start to the season so far. This will be their first match of the season in the F.A.Women's Cup, having received a bye in the Preliminary Round.
The team is managed by Ant Forrester and Kate Fullen is captain but the best known player in their squad - Jen O'Neill - will not be available as she is otherwise engaged in China at present!
Team Northumbria will go into the tie as favourites but will be aware that Cleveland Hall will not be an easy nut to crack, as they play at the same level as previous opponents Durham City.
