Suzanne grants Hibs a lifeline
 Women's Football News 13 Aug 2007
Suzanne Grant scored a hat-trick as Hibernian re-kindled their UEFA Women's Cup qualification hopes with a 4-1 victory over Sportowy GOL.
Natalie Ross had given Hibs a first half lead before the Polish side levelled through Marta Stobba ahead of the interval. However, two goals in quick succession after the hour mark from Grant put Hibs in control and she wrapped up the win with her third, five minutes from time.
The win moves Hibs into second place and needing a victory from their final match against Mayo, whilst hoping that Sportowy can beat group leaders Neulengbach.
Everton are not yet through to the next phase but a draw will suffice after crushing Glentoran 11-0.
Amy Kane led the scoring spree for the Toffees with a hat-trick, whilst substitute Toni Duggan bagged a brace. Emily Westwood had opened the scoring early on and also on the scoresheet were Fara Williams, Jody Handley, Michelle Evans, Kelly McDougall and Lindsay Johnson.
Everton finish off against Swiss side FFC Zuchwil in a match where the winners will book their place in the second phase.
However the adventure is over for Cardiff for another year as they went down to their second narrow defeat, losing 2-0 to Dezembro.
Elisabete Costa Caleja gave the Portuguese side the lead on the half hour and Carla Couto added the second, midway through the second half.
Cardiff take on group hosts Osijek in their final game and need to avoid defeat in order to secure a third place finish.
