Everton got off to a winning start in their first ever competitive European match, but there was disappointment for the other three British sides in the UEFA Women's Cup.
The Toffees kicked off their group, hosted in Lithuania, with a 4-0 victory over Gintra. Michelle Evans gave Everton the lead on the half hour with Jody Handley netting the second five minutes later, before Becky Easton and Rachel Unitt rounded off the win with second half strikes.
Everton's next opponents will be Glentoran who were beaten 5-1 by Zuchwil, Gemma Quigley scoring a late consolation goal in injury time.
Hibernian meanwhile went down to a narrow 4-3 defeat at the hands of SV Neulengbach. Kim Little gave them an early lead but despite further goals from Suzanne Grant and Pauline Hamill, the Scottish Champions were never quite able to get back on terms. They will be hoping for better fortunes against Sportowy GOL on Saturday.
Cardiff City were also beaten in their opening game but not disgraced, 2-0 to Rapide Wezemaal. The South Wales side next face Dezembro of Portugal.
