England Head Coach Hope Powell today named her 21-player squad for the World Cup Finals in China.
There are no real surprises amongst the squad which is set to compete in the Finals for the first time since 1995.
Jo Potter and Emily Westwood were ruled out of contention following injuries whilst Steph Houghton's rapid emergence from the younger age groups sees her rewarded with a place. Carly Telford was named as the third goalkeeper whilst her new Leeds Utd team mate Sue Smith is included, after her Euro 2005 heartbreak in not making the final squad.
Five clubs are represented in the squad, with Arsenal having no less than nine players selected.
The squad flies out to Macao on 19th August where they will train at Great Britain's Olympic training base before moving to Shanghai a week before the tournament starts. England open up their World Cup campaign against Japan on 11th September before playing Germany three days later and finishing their group by taking on Argentina on 17th, in Chengdu.
