Women's football within the Isle of Man will have a new structure for the 2007-08 season.
Further to a meeting that was chaired by Vice-President and Fixtures' Chairman Tony Mepham, also present was Women's Football Development Officer Jack Walton and representatives from various clubs, the following was agreed at this meeting and has been approved by the IOMFA:
* Floodlit Cup football will be played on a Sunday afternoon and not Friday evening subject to the availability of the astroturf pitches;
* The Floodlit Cup groups will be seeded by the Fixtures Committee;
* The 2007-08 season will start as on one league with each team playing each other once. Once complete, the league will be split into two, the top half going into Division One, the bottom half going into Division Two. They will then play off the remaining reverse fixtures in each group for the championship titles. If there are an odd number of teams, then Division One will have the extra team.
* There will be an end-of-season cup competition exclusively for Second Division clubs.
The football season for the forthcoming season will kick off on Sunday 9th September 2007. Due to an English FA directive, all players now must be 16 years and over to register.
