England swept into the semi finals of the UEFA Under-19 Championships with a 1-0 victory over Spain, which confirmed them as group winners.
Norway stand between Mo Marley's side and a first ever appearance in the Final. It is the third time that England have reached the last four and they attempt to go one better on Thursday.
England went into the game needing a point to make sure of qualification and started well with Ellen White going close early on.
In the 20th minute, England were awarded a free kick for a foul on Remi Allen, even though Natasha Dowie would have had a chance on goal. It did not matter as Danielle Buet stepped up to drill the ball home and send her side into the lead.
After the goal, England needed to withstand some Spanish pressure but continued to look sharp going forward and Dowie almost added a second.
In the second half, Spain pressed forward with Danielle Hill saving from Laura Requena but it was England who looked the likelier to score. Ellen White struck the woodwork with a header and Jess Clarke nodded a White cross just over the bar, as England closed the game out to complete their impressive start in the group stages.
England: Danielle Hill, Chelsea Weston, Sian Larkin, Lizzie Edwards, Fern Whelan, Sophie Bradley, Jess Clarke, Danielle Buet, Ellen White, Natasha Dowie, Remi Allen. Subs not used: Jayne Eadie, Rebecca Spencer, Sophe Walton, Claire Rafferty, Kelly Lawrence, Jade Moore, Faye McCoy.
