Birmingham City have captured the signature of England striker Amanda Barr for next season from Charlton Athletic. The 22-year-old, who has been the leading goalscorer in the National Division for the past two seasons, has signed on contract for the Blues who are moving towards becoming a semi-professional club. To assist with this task, manager Marcus Bignot will also take up the position of Managing Director/Head of Football.
Three other players have also joined the ambitious Midlands club. England under-19 international Heather Scheuber has signed from Tranmere Rovers, whilst there will be plenty of competition for the goalkeeping position between Jo Fletcher, who arrives from Doncaster Rovers Belles and Siobhan Chamberlain from Fulham.
Marcus Bignot has also revealed that he is hoping for "three, possibly four" more signings and further announcements are expected very soon.
